Holiday Tops
It’s that time of year… Time for holiday parties, get-togethers, and celebrations galore. While it’s meant to be the happiest time of the year, I know that all of these different functions can bring on anxiety. Not just the anxiety of social gatherings, creating a perfect holiday for your family, holiday cooking/baking, and so on. But also what you’re going to wear! Well, I’m here to make at least the last part a little easier for you. Here’s my biggest tip…just add tops! Instead of searching for the perfect holiday dress or jumpsuit, just grab a few affordable holiday tops that you can wear with jeans, pants, and skirts that you already have in your closet. Add some heels, accessories, and jewelry, and voila! You’re ready for the next holiday party in no time at all. Below, I’m sharing some of my favorite tops, blouses, and sweaters for the holidays at different price ranges so you’re sure to find something you’ll love and feel festive in this holiday season…

#1) Sequin Top
First up is this gorgeous sequin top by 1. State. It has a mock neck, long sleeves, and a beautiful, dramatic draped back. You know what I always say…I like drama in my clothes, not my life. This top is perfect for a holiday party, a night out, or even during your family get-together at home for Christmas dinner. Oh, and the best part is that it’s under $100! It also comes in black and pink and runs true to size (I’m wearing a small). I’m wearing it with a pair of straight-leg jeans (more about the exact pair below) but you could easily style this top with some classic black pants for an office party or a chic skirt to dress it up even more. Note: you will need someone to help you with the back buttons at the neck.

Straight-Leg Jeans
I need to talk about these jeans for a minute because I’m wearing them with every single look in this post…yes, they’re THAT good! They are a pair of straight-leg jeans by L’Agence that have a raw hem, super high-rise, and are SO flattering. Unfortunately, they keep going in and out of stock so if you see your size grab them. They also come in black if you’re searching for a good pair of black jeans. I also LOVE this pair by Mother if you’re trying to get a similar look. If you need help finding the perfect pair of jeans, make sure you watch this video too!

Statement Clutch
Cult Gaia makes some really special accessories and when I saw this clutch, I knew it would be perfect for the holidays! I love the look of the pearls…they’re so elegant, sophisticated, and chic. You can style this clutch with jeans and a blouse like I did, or with your favorite holiday dress, skirt, or pants. I love the white but it also comes in black.

Classic Earrings
Since this sequin top is so sparkly, I wanted to let it shine on its own! For my earrings, I went with a classic pair of Monica Vinader hoops that have beautiful tiny diamonds that are not too over the top. They are an investment but I wear them with everything. They are so good I even included the smaller hoops in my Gift Guide for Her (or Yourself) here.

#2) Satin Blouse
If you love a bold, beautiful color, you might fall in love this Jonathan Simkhai blouse! The deep, rich burgundy color is SO gorgeous and I love the unique pleating on the sleeves. It has a tie-neck but I left it open. The satin material looks super luxe and feels amazing on the skin. It’s also pretty thin, so you can tuck it into your jeans, pants, or skirt without adding bulk. Or leave it untucked like I did. This blouse is lovely for hiding a tummy. This exact blouse is sold out so I linked a similar one.

Statement Earrings
To accessorize this look, I’m carrying the same Cult Gaia clutch. But decided to up the pearl game with some imitation-pearl chandelier earrings by Open Edit. I’ve purchased a few pieces of Open Edit jewelry and love the quality…especially for the price tag. These earrings are only $25 and they make a big impact for such a small price! The exact earrings are sold out, but we found a very similar option!

Feather Heels
On my feet, I’m wearing a pair of feathery Sam Edelman mules that are SO fun. Every detail on these shoes is perfect…the dramatic feathers, flattering pointed toe, and fun flared heel…perfection! Wear these with all of your holiday outfits this year for some extra oomph. (They are also easy to get on and off. Yay!)

#3) Turtleneck Sweater
For a more casual holiday celebration, go with a classic sweater in a beautiful color like this burgundy turtleneck! I love the super subtle ribbed details, ruching at the shoulders, and balloon sleeves with fitted cuffs. It’s lightweight wool so you’ll stay warm but the sleeves are thin enough that you can layer over them if you need to. To dress up the look, I’m wearing the same accessories from the last look. (BTW, this sweater is NOT itchy.)

#4) Asymmetrical Sweater
This sweater by Reiss is a unique and modern option for the holidays. The asymmetrical hemline is super flattering because it cheats the waistline in and makes you look slimmer. I also love the contrast of the black and white. It’s wool and cashmere so it’s very warm, which is a consideration if you have hot flashes or run hot. The sweater sold out in a hot minute, but we found a similar one by ASTR The Label that I also own and love…and it’s under $100!
CAMI (In Red) | SIMILAR CAMI | JEANS | HEELS | CLUTCH | FOR LESS | EARRINGS | LIPSTICK
#5) Sequin Camisole
Next up is this festive and sexy 1. State sequin cami. Every woman needs a basic black and white cami in her closet for everyday wear. But I’m starting to think a sequin cami is a must-have for the holidays! I styled it on its own with jeans but I could see this cami under a blazer, moto jacket, or faux fur paired with pants and skirts too. It also comes in black and is only $69!
Gold Slingbacks
On my feet, I’m wearing a pair of Franco Sarto gold slingback pumps. These pumps are super comfortable (for heels) and I love the gold color for the holidays. Metallics are very “in” right now and since they’re pretty neutral, they will be easy to transition into your winter wardrobe as well.

#6) Bustier Corset Top
If you’re looking to amp up the sexy for the holidays, this corset top is the perfect option! It has beautiful lace, flattering structured boning, lightly padded cups with a supportive underwire, and a zipper back. It’s incredibly flattering, uber sexy and pairs perfectly with jeans and a blazer.
Faux Leather Blazer
I bought this Alice + Olivia blazer a few months ago and have been wearing it nonstop with jeans, skirts, and dresses! It’s one of those basics with a twist I’m always talking about. The leather material just gives it a special twist on a normal basic. The exact Alice + Olivia blazer is sold out, but I linked a very similar one by the same brand here. Plus, a more affordable option here.

Oh those black feathered heels 👠 are a must have for this 74 year old. Make me giggle! Going to juxtapose them with Lily Silk black dressy joggers & black cashmere turtleneck.
Aren’t they SO cute?! That sounds like the perfect way to style them! Thanks for sharing, Mary! ~Erin xo
