All of the jackets in the graphic above are under $160, except the denim jacket, which is $168 but too good not to share! Find more details about each of these lightweight fall jackets for fall below as well as more of Erin’s favorites…
1) Pre-Layered Blazer
If you’ve been an email subscriber for a while, you know how much Erin loves her Veronica Beard dickey blazer with removable zip-in/out dickeys. But, it’s a little pricey so we love it when we can find look-a-likes for less. This Evereve blazer has a removable zip-up hoodie so you get the same look as a Veronica Beard dickey blazer but for a fraction of the price! We also love the faux leather stripes down the sleeves that give it a little extra edge. You can wear this with pants to the office without the hoodie or on the weekends with jeans with the hoodie. It’s a super versatile piece!
2) Elevated Jewel-Button Blazer
If you’re looking for a blazer that’s a little more elevated, this is a beautiful option. It has pretty gold, decorative buttons at the front closure and on the cuffs. It has a subtle padded shoulder and more oversized, longline fit. You can wear this to the office, to dinner with jeans, or even for a special event with black pants or over a dress.
3) Denim Shirt Jacket
A denim jacket is a closet staple but if you’re looking for a basic-with-a-twist that we’re always talking about, consider a denim jacket like this one from J. Crew. It’s more a shirt-style jacket with a tie-waist detail that really helps accentuate the waist and create definition but you can also wear it open.
4) Bomber Cardigan Jacket
More recently, we’ve seen thicker button-up cardigans worn as jackets. This bomber-style cardigan is so cool, we love the color, and the oversized, casual fit is perfect for fall. We’d wear this with jeans loafers for a day working at home, running errands, or a casual lunch. Keep it buttoned for an on-trend look or unbutton it and wear a cami or tee underneath.
5) Short Belted Trench
How gorgeous is the darker trim on this trench jacket?? The lighter tan and darker brown color combination looks so luxe! The belted waist is also a wonderful detail for creating a more definite waist. But you could easily wear this open too because the jacket has a fit-and-flare silhouette.
6) Lady Jacket
Have you heard of lady jackets? It’s basically an updated take on a timeless, Chanel-like jacket. It’s usually cropped, collarless, and has distinctive buttons. They are super feminine and versatile because you can wear them as a 3rd layer or a stand-alone sweater. This lady jacket is super popular right now on Instagram and comes in a few color options.
7) Reversible Shearling & Quilted Jacket
This reversible puffer jacket is such a good, versatile fall jacket. You can throw this on with jeans and a tee for a pulled-together look or even over your workout clothes to and from the gym. One side is a classic utility green quilted puffer fabric and the other is a plush faux shearling that’s super soft. Who doesn’t love a 2-for-1 deal, right?! And, bonus…sizing ranges from XXX-Small-3X.
8) Classic Zip-Up Collared Jacket
This collared zip-up jacket is another great, versatile fall wardrobe staple. You can throw this over pretty much any outfit and add instant style!
9) Worn Effect Bomber Jacket
If you prefer something a little edgier, this bomber jacket is such a cool option. We love that it has a worn look to it so it looks like that cool leather jacket you’ve been wearing for years.
10) Faded Vegan Leather Moto Jacket
If a bomber jacket isn’t your style, consider a moto jacket! This one by BlankNYC also has that weathered, worn look to the vegan leather that’s so cool. BlankNYC makes great, high-quality jackets at affordable prices so you know this one will last.
11) Leather-Trimmed Faux Fur Jacket
This faux fur jacket is also by BlankNYC and we love that it has faux leather trim that edges it up a little. Faux fur jackets can sometimes feel like they’re swallowing you, which is why we like that this one is cropped so you still get the faux fur look without being completely enveloped. It won’t overpower your outfit.
12) Faux Shearling Jacket
Shearing is having a moment this fall/winter and we love that this faux shearling jacket isn’t too much shearling. You can see it peeking out at the collar and around the hem, which is perfect. We featured the black in the graphic but it also comes in a pretty beige color that’s equally as versatile.
Erin’s Fall Jackets
1) Cinq à Sept Denim Blazer
You may remember this look from this post where we featured the top denim trends. If you’ve never tried a Cinq à Sept blazer…trust us, they’re wonderful! The fit, the weight of the material, the ¾ sleeves, the length…it’s all perfect! This blazer is a super lightweight denim that’s so soft, stretchy, and luxe. It runs true to size.
2) Steve Madden Faux Leather Cropped Blazer
Erin bought this cropped Steve Madden blazer during the NSale this year and has styled it in so many different ways…with a little black dress, with jeans, with joggers, with wide-leg pants, etc. We love that even though this is an elevated blazer because of the faux leather material, it’s still very wearable and versatile. It also comes in black but we love the off-white to lighten up a fall look. It runs true to size.
3) Alice + Olivia Red Box Jacket
Bright, fiery red is easily the biggest color trend of fall 2023 so Erin just picked up this jacket (and the next one below) to show you how you can incorporate it into your wardrobe. This Alice + Olivia tweed jacket has pretty white and black details and we love the contrast. The pretty gold buttons are very luxe and the cropped length is perfect for highlighting the waist. If you want to try an outfit like this to incorporate the color trend into your outfit, consider adding a jacket like this. We also linked an affordable option below. It runs true to size.
4) A.L.C. Red Jacket
If you know you love red, then go all-out with a red suit like this one by A.L.C. This jacket has a really unique cargo-inspired look and we love the asymmetrical hem. You can wear it with matching pants or style it with a super high-rise pair of jeans. It runs true to size.
5) Me + Em Bouclé Military Jacket
We featured this gorgeous bouclé jacket in this post with how to style a black dress for fall/winter. Erin could immediately tell that this jacket would be a heavy hitter for her. The cream color is beautiful and unexpected for fall, the buttons look and feel luxe, the weight is perfect, and the fit is SO good…it’s structured, not too cropped, and has a bit of a boxier fit. You can wear this with everything from jeans and pants to dresses and skirts this fall. It runs true to size.
Bonus: BlankNYC Faux Shearling & Leather Jacket
We wanted to share one extra fall jacket because it’s just too good! Erin tried this on when she traveled to Denver for the NSale this year and really loved it. She didn’t end up purchasing it because it was too big to travel back in her suitcase. It’s by BlankNYC and only $148…which is shocking considering the look and the quality! If you’re looking for a good faux shearling jacket with cool, edgy details, this is a great option!

Hi Erin and team.. I love jackets. They are all great. I loved the red tweed and those jeans are the best. I had a vintage tweed jacket in black and white and donated it. Now, everyone is wearing them with jeans..darn. Erin, I love the beautiful red suit on you. You look gorgeous as usual in everything.
Thank you for the sweet comment, Rita! It’s so hard to know what to keep and what to donate, isn’t it? Have a wonderful weekend, ~Erin xo
